Local 79 President Tim Maguire is preparing for another union telephone town hall, but this time he’s doing things a little differently.
In order to talk to members and answer questions that affect their specific bargaining unit, and minimize the chance of call-drops due to overcapacity on the city’s local phone switchers, four telephone town halls will be held this time for Local 79 members from the City of Toronto.
Please note the time of your town hall:
- Unit B Part-Time – Thursday, March 1st at 7:30 p.m.
- Full-Time – Sunday, March 4th at 2:00 p.m.
- Long Term Care Homes and Services – Sunday, March 4th at 4:00 p.m.
- Recreation Workers Part-Time – Sunday, March 4th at 6:00 p.m.
Tim will give an update on the status of bargaining and will also cover topics specific to each Unit. During the meeting, you will be able to ask questions and make comments, just like in a radio call-in show.
Each meeting will last about 45 minutes to an hour. All you have to do to participate is answer the phone when we call. If you want to submit questions by email in advance of the meeting, send an email to tsandberg@cupelocal79.org, and include your unit.
Notice: If you do not receive a phone call from our system at your Unit’s time, check the Member’s Portal. An access code to call in will be displayed once the Town Hall has already begun.
