Youth Day: Sunday
On Sunday, we’ll be at Yonge/Dundas Square for Youth Day!
This year, CUPE Local 79 is the lead sponsor of Youth Day, a festival that celebrates the positive achievements of young people showcasing their music, dance, art and photography.
Last week at the festival’s launch, Local 79 President Tim Maguire spoke about the importance of supporting youth in Toronto — especially in the context of reducing youth violence and helping youth realise their dreams.
Almost half of Local 79’s members are youth, and many Local 79 members work with youth across Toronto.
Our ‘Chill with Will’ group will also be there, handing out SWAG and performing street theatre about the services Local 79 members provide.
CUPE Local 79 members are invited to stand on stage at 6:00 pm for a moment of silence for youth lost to violence.
Where:
Yonge/Dundas Square
When:
All day Sunday, July 21st (11:00 am – 11:00 pm)
