Members raise over a million for charity
On December 13, 2011, City of Toronto employees presented a $1,260,000 cheque to United Way Toronto, far exceeding their fundraising goals.
“The City of Toronto has raised more than $1 million annually for 11 years in a row, thanks to a dedicated team of co-ordinators and canvassers from the Toronto Public Service and its partners, who volunteer each year to help those who need it the most,” said City Manager and Campaign Patron Joseph Pennachetti in a press release.
United Way Toronto helps thousands of disadvantaged people by funding hundreds of programs. A big congratulations to Local 79 members on their fundraising feat; they prove time and again how much they care about Toronto.
