Thousands participate in Local 79 Telephone Town Hall

On Sunday, November 20th, Local 79 President Ann Dembinski hosted the union’s very first telephone Town Hall meeting to discuss bargaining with members from the City of Toronto.

Thousands of members participated in the call, answering poll questions and listening as Ann as she fielded questions from members and gave a comprehensive update on how bargaining was proceeding with the City.

Unfortunately a technical glitch occurred during the town hall in which a few members lost their connection. We are looking into the problem to make sure it doesn’t happen again, and will improve plans on how to reconnect members during future town halls.

For those who were disconnected or missed the entire Town Hall — Local 79 is putting together a bargaining FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) that will answer some of the main questions posed during the Town Hall. We will post this in the Members’ Portal by the end of this week.
