On August 18th, 2014, the Toronto Board of Health heard a presentation by CUPE Local 79 and reviewed a new report by the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) that details the hidden cuts in the province’s planned integration of its dental health programs. If the provincial changes go through, more than 15,000 children in Toronto will no longer be eligible for provincially-funded preventive oral health services. The MOH is recommending that the City formally urge the province to reverse the cut.
