This year the Equity Symposium marked a special anniversary. For 10 years now, the City of Toronto and CUPE Local 79 have cooperated to host this event with the goal of improving equity in our workplaces.

This year’s theme reflected on the components that make a healthy workplace and focused on bullying prevention and manageable workloads.
Our keynote speaker was Michael Landsberg, an award-winning television and radio personality who heads the #SickNotWeak organization. He explored his personal battle with depression and discussed the stigmas those battling mental illness face and how allies can help remove barriers.
