Workers at Hennick Bridgepoint Hospital came together at our Local 79 info table this week to kick off our bargaining campaign. Over coffee and donuts, members connected with their organizing team, signed up for bargaining updates, and started organizing for a stronger contract.

What an incredible Pride weekend in Toronto! CUPE Local 79 was proud to show up loud and proud at the Trans March, Dyke March, and the Pride Parade. Members brought energy in their celebration of/for 2SLGBTQI+ rights.

Pride is protest. Pride is celebration. Pride is community.
Today wraps up an intensive 3-day training for Local 79 members in a City Hall Politics 101 training. Members learned about how decisions at City Hall impact our jobs and communities, and how we can organize to influence those decisions.
This week, a new group of of members stepped up to take on one of the most important roles in our union: becoming union stewards and learning to support coworkers, defend our Collective Agreement, and organizing for fairness in our workplaces!
