Take a look at our summer campaign!
Toronto residents enjoying the city’s summertime events may get to know Toronto’s inside workers, as we launch our summertime campaign aimed at building awareness of the services our members deliver daily and celebrating the City in the summer.
Beginning this weekend and continuing throughout the summer, we’ll be a presence at events and activities across the city, offering everything from water bottles and sunscreen to a refreshing misting tent. Through a combination of sponsorship and participation, Local 79 will be continuing its efforts to take care of Toronto.
“This campaign echoes what our members do every day – we take care of Toronto, in each and every community,” said Local 79 President Tim Maguire. “Supporting summer fun in Toronto is a great fit for us. Some of our members are already involved in these events as workers and residents, and they celebrate the diversity of the communities we serve.”
This Friday, Local 79 members will participate in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at Birchmount Stadium in Scarborough; Saturday and Sunday, the Local 79 misting tent will be on hand to cool down paddlers at Toronto’s annual Dragon Board Races on Toronto Island; and on Monday, Local 79 will be sponsoring the flag raising and BBQ that mark the official start of Toronto’s Pride Week.
The campaign will be supported by transit advertising on shelters and buses starting June 25, which will focus on a number of services Local 79 members deliver throughout the summer.
